The Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) Program is a state grant to local fire departments to conduct fire and life safety education programs in grades K-12. The mission is to enable students to recognize the dangers of fire and more specifically the fire hazards tobacco products pose. The town of Holbrook has received this grant for the past 5 years. The grant has been used to purchase materials and conduct lessons in the local schools, and sponsor a yearly open house.
Lt. Keeman teaches the SAFE Program to 2nd & 4th Graders at St. Joseph's School.
