On Wednesday Morning November 22, 2006 at approximately 2:25am a devestating explosion occured at a plating plant in Danvers. Over 90 homes were damaged, some beyond repair. Miraculously no one was killed or seriously injured. Over a week later only 15 families had been allowed back into their homes.

Three members of the Holbrook Fire Department were activated through the State Fire Marshals Office as members of different response teams.
